Amalfi
Welcome to the Amalfi Coast
Stretching along the southern side of Italy, Amalfi's history dates
back to the 1st Century A.C. when wealthy noble Romans built their luxurious villas here. Amalfi was Italy's first Sea Republic and had a very important role in the region during the Middle Ages.
The Amalfi Coast is rich of beautiful places with mysterious grottos, cliffs and wonderful bays. Along this stretch of coastline, you will find picturesque villages overlooking the Mediterrenean sea.
Amalfi is the main town on the coast and this makes a good starting point to explore the area. Other popular destinations are Ravello, Positano, Vietri sul Mare, Atrani, Nerano, St. Agata Sui Due Golfi and the island of Capri which is just a boat trip away from Positano. Ravello, situated at 350m above sea level, is a magical place suspended between the sea and the sky, wellknown for its beautiful gardens with fabulous views stretching across the valley and the
coast below.
